Educational Notebook for Expanded Nature Exhibition
Created by the education team of the La Moneda Cultural Center in collaboration with Fundación Mar Adentro's education team, this notebook is an invitation for teachers to engage with the contents of the exhibition "Expanded nature: making the invisible visible", on view at Galería del Heritage, CCLM, in multiple ways. A pedagogical tool capable of stimulating critical reflections on natural heritage and the power of multidisciplinary projects through a series of activities and content. (Currently only available in Spanish)
Small publication created by Etienne de France in collaboration with Chilean anthropologist Diego Milos and Mapuche poet Lionel Lienlaf for his installation "Against the Drought of Signs" presented in October 2019 in the National Museum of Fine Arts of Santiago within the exhibition "The Third Landscape" for the 14 Media Art Biennial. A multi-translation of the welsh poem "Kat Godeu" (The Battle of Trees) preserved in the 14th-century manuscript known as the Book of Taliesin that tells the story of Gwydion, mythical figure and magician, who encourages a multitude of forest plants to fight as his army. The Spanish and Mapuzungun version coexist alongside the Welsh and English to unveil many levels of interpretation, be they political, historical, literary, ritualistic, or plant related knowledge.
Educational guide for documentary The Irrational Optimist
An educational guide prepared by the Escuela al Cine program of the National Film Archive of Chile with the collaboration of Fundación Mar Adentro, with the purpose of delivering a pedagogical tool that provides with ideas for teachers to connect the documentary The Irrational Optimist about Theo Jansen with relevant topics for their students. (Currently only available in Spanish)
Zine published for Theo Jansen's exhibition "Wind Algorithms" at the National Center for Contemporary Art in Cerrillos, Chile, 2018, that presents information on the evolution of his kinetic sculptures, an interview between FMA and Theo Jansen, as well as activities for children and archive information about the origin of his ideas. "Wind Algorithms. Theo Jansen" April - December 2018 considered a lecture, a sample of his Strandbeests -kinetic sculptures- at the Cerrillos National Contemporary Art Center in Santiago, as well as an extensive educational program, here the complete program.
Our proposal was to carry out a cultural program within the Fourth International Congress of Marine Protected Areas, IMPAC4 held in Coquimbo, Chile, 2017. A program that inserted contemporary art in conservation to bring marine conservation issues closer to citizens, which considered the installation of Cubo Arte, a concert by our collaborators of Toki NGO–pianist Mahani Teave and the singer Enrique Icka -, artistic workshops, and a program for teachers.
Outdoor make-shift video art installation on the waterfront for IMPAC 4, 2017: seven internationally renowned contemporary artists whose works present topics such as ocean conservation, fishing practices, the impact of migrations in coastal areas, the historical accounts of marine animals, all works that pose to stop and reflect on the relationships between human beings and the sea.
Triptych on Animitas installation, third monument to humanity made by Christian Boltanski in the Atacameñan community of Talabre in the San Pedro Desert in the north of Chile. An ephemeral installation whose sound aspect moves us to reflect on life and death, human transcendence. (Content available only in Spanish)
