Bosque Pehuén, Andean Araucanía / Chile

This book summarizes ten years of work in the formation of the Bosque Pehuén reserve. It gives an account of the scientific research promoted by Fundación Mar Adentro, which covers everything from the ancestral history of the temperate South American rainforests and serves as a guide of the particular species that inhabit this environment. The publication is based mainly on the research developed by scientists Iván Díaz, Daniela Mellado, Javier Godoy and Ricardo Moreno, from the Laboratory of Biodiversity and Canopy Ecology, Institute of Biodiversity, Conservation and Territory of the Faculty of Forestry and Natural Resources Of the Universidad Austral de Chile. Edited by Saposcat with an agile and attractive format that proposes several layers of content, it is the first compendium of knowledge that Fundación Mar Adentro has developed, and that will serve as the basis for a wider future publication.

Animitas

Animitas, published by Hueders and Fundación Mar Adentro, reflects the creative and production process of the installation by renowned French artist Christian Boltanski created in the Atacama community of Talabre, at the foot of the Lascar Volcano, San Pedro de Atacama, in late 2014. The installation, entitled Animitas, was part of the exhibition Almas, a retrospective of the work of Boltanski at that time presented in the National Museum of Fine Arts of Santiago, which was broadcasted via streaming. The publication, of 160 pages, includes: the story of how the curator, Beatriz Bustos, contacted and convinced the artist; a tour through the Atacama in search of the locality for the installation; interviews and research on animitas and the Atacama culture, and the incorporation of the installation in the 54th Venice Biennale 2015. The book is available in different bookstores or in the following link: http://tienda.hueders.cl/products/animitas.
