In 2011 our foundation was invited to participate in the first version of the Puerto de Ideas Festival, a unique cultural event in our country, created by the Fundación Puerto de Ideas. The encounter was held in Valparaíso, cultural capital of Chile, supported by Fundación Mar Adentro, the Coca-Cola Institute of Happiness and the National Council for Culture and the Arts.

This initiative was created and promoted by the political scientist, Chantal Signorio, President of the Fundación Puerto de Ideas, who seeking to disseminate knowledge and inspired in European cultural festivals, opened with this event the doors of culture to a mass audience.

The Fundación Puerto de Ideas was created in 2010 with the aim of bringing culture, art and science nearer to more people in order to promote the formation of ideas in all spheres nationwide. Through this event the public can learn in a more attractive and profound way about the creative process of ideas and works of artists, humanists, writers and scientists.

With the theme “Festival de la Creatividad” (Festival of Creativity), Valparaiso brought together during three days (November 4, 5 and 6) philosophers, writers, artists and scientists to bring knowledge, new ideas and the challenges of the current world closer to a wider and varied public, interested in subjects to which they commonly do not have access.

At the opening of the festival we heard the famous Chilean visual artist, architect and filmmaker, Alfredo Jaar, who talked about his most iconic projects. We also listened to the words of Marc Augé (French anthropologist), Matías Bize (Chilean filmmaker), Ramuntcho Matta (French visual artist and musician) and Julia Kristeva (French psychoanalyst and writer), among others.

This unprecedented festival was very successful and was attended by 8 thousand people, a number that far exceeded expectations. The activities and lectures took place in the Parque Cultural Valparaíso, Museo Lord Cochrane, the theater of the former Colegio Alemán and the Palacio Cousiño.

Since 2011 the Fundación Puerto de Ideas has received several awards, such as:
