Shorebirds are among the most ambitious birds of nature and among those that cover longer distances. But their number is declining and it is expected that some species will become extinct during our lifetime. To protect these birds is a conservation priority of international importance that requires coordinated efforts and proactive measures in each one of the countries these birds fly over during their extensive migrations from pole to pole.

The cultural encounter “Collaboration between complex territorial systems, dialogues between Medellin and Valparaíso” was held at the Parque Cultural de Valparaiso with an important attendance. Medellin, the Colombian city turned into a global benchmark for sustainable urban development and innovation with social impact, made us reflect on the reconstruction of the hills of the port as an example applicable to the geographical situation of Valparaíso.

Puerto de Ideas 2014

The Festival Puerto de Ideas has been taking place these last four years in Valparaíso, and since April 2014 in Antofagasta. About fifty thousand people have participated in this encounter dedicated to the exchange and flow of ideas through debates, lectures and interviews around humanistic, scientific and artistic themes.

More than 400 teams registered for the Colorearte 2014 Competition “Los colores del agua” (The Colors of Water)

460 teams from all regions of the country registered for the school competition “Colorearte, educación a través del Arte”, which invited us in its 11th version to experiment with “The colors of water”. This annual initiative is aimed at students from first grade to year 12 of schools across Chile.

Our partners in Así Conserva Chile A.G., Katalapi Park (Located in the Region of Los Lagos) will conduct, during the 3rd, 4th and 5th of April, the fifth version of their Introductory Course for Environmental Education. Therefore, we wanted to be present in this first version of the festival in Antofagasta, which had science as its theme. In this festival, unlike that in Valparaíso, we participated by developing an experimental laboratory.

Aware of the importance and role of water in our lives, the Colorearte competition invited, with the theme of "Water", students throughout Chile to discover the mysterious and amazing world of this vital element of our planet. Students from the first to the last level of learning had the opportunity to observe the water of their environment and make an artistic intervention on the landscape.

A new space of green areas was inaugurated on Friday, December 20 2013 in the area of home care in emergencies of Hospital del Salvador. The activity involved hospital staff, specialists and members of Fundación Inspira and Fundación Mar Adentro.
