Project of green areas for Octavio Palma Pérez School

Fundación Mar Adentro, together with Fundación Mi Parque, and with the support of the Municipality de Cauquenes and Forestal Alto Cauquenes, have developed a project of improvement of green areas and recreation for the Octavio Palma Pérez School, to provide entertainment, recreation and a comprehensive education to the community of Sauzal, located in Cauquenes, in the Maule region.

Together with Fundación Mi Parque, during June and July 2011, our foundation took part in a project to transform the courtyards of the Octavio Palma Pérez School, which welcomes children from the town of Sauzal.
Thanks to this initiative, the school community has now green and recreational areas, including native species, fruit trees, orchards, greenhouses and recreational spaces.
The works were opened on Wednesday July 13, 2011, and attended by authorities of the area, members of the community of Sauzal, teachers, students and the project team formed by Fundación Mi Parque, Fundación Mar Adentro and Corporacion Chileambiente.
Octavio Palma Pérez School is the only school in the area and provides education to 87 students from pre-primary to primary school. With this project, the school increased its green areas, improved the area destined to sports and incorporated games and seats made with natural materials.
