A Natural Laboratory

A summer camp and scientific-artistic workshop were held in January to sensitize children and adolescents with the ecosystem in which they live. Both experiences were made in Cabo Frío (Cold Cape), Punta Arenas and were designed by the artist Aymara Zegers, biologist Germán Manríquez and the Natural History Museum of Río Seco team. FMA participated as a collaboratoring partner and advisor.

FMA Launches A Book on Boltanski

Animitas, published by Hueders and Fundación Mar Adentro, reveals the creative productive process of the homonymous installation that the renowned French artist created with the Atacameñan community of Talabre, at the foot of the volcano Láscar, in octubre 2014. It is one of the few Boltanski books published in Spanish and will be sold in Madrid and Barcelona, in the La Central bookstores, Reina Sofía Museum store, in Mexico, France and Chile.

The national dyeing and creativity contest for schools, delivered the expected results. To portray what represents each Chilean community was the theme of this year's 12th edition of the contest, organized by Fundación Mustakis in collaboration with Anilinas Montblanc and Fundación Mar Adentro.

Valparaíso Puerto de Ideas Festival 2015 launches this year’s program

The fifth version of Festival Puerto de Ideas, which counts with the support of Fundación Mar Adentro, will be held on the 6th, 7th and 8th of November. The festival's program focuses on literature, art, drama, philosophy, music, physics, sociology and film related activities. Tickets are already on sale in www.daleticket.cl and in the kiosk located in the Plaza Cívica of Valparaíso.

OECD Delegation Visit the Río Maipo Wetland

Within the Environmental Performance Assessment of Chile that is being conducted this week as a mission of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), their delegation conducted a visit today to the Yali and Río Maipo Wetlands to identify their potential threat on site. They are two wetlands of great environmental importance but in varying states of conservation and management hence interesting to analyze and compare.

Boltanski’s “Animitas” Travels to the Venice Bienniale

The installation, which was produced in Chile by Chilean curator Beatriz Bustos O., from BBO Cultural Developments and Fundación Mar Adentro, will be part of the main event of this year's Venice Biennale: "All the World's Futures" curated by Okwui Enwezor with the participation of 136 international artists inaugurating on May 9th.
