We support the realization of this festival of creativity since its first version, in 2011; since 2014, we have been implementing our Active Teachers program in parallel to the activities offered by the festival, that invites teachers from different regions of the country to participate in the festival and enrich their intellectual and artistic experience.
The seventh version of Puerto de Ideas Valparaíso begins this Friday November 10th, a festival that presents a series of talks, activities and shows with thinkers and creators of various disciplines and backgrounds throughout the entire weekend. The presence of German philosopher Boris Groys, French author Philippe Claudel and Cameroonian novelist Leonora Miano stand out; the participation of Chilean architects Alejandro Aravena and Smiljan Radic, and the presentation of Canto para una semilla (A Song For A Seed) with Inti Illimani and Isabel Parra, in honor of Violeta Parra. Among many other experts and topics, the biologist Javier Simonetti will give a lecture on conservation and the urgent need to change our perception of nature.
Within the Active Teachers program, FMA invited eleven teachers from the southern regions of the country to participate in the various talks and shows. A workshop session will be held that will provide with instances of networking to promote an interchange of ideas and experiences, allowing them to learn new working methodologies from each other and implement in the long term. Among their various activities, they will share with Cecilia Vicuña, a renowned Chilean artist whose work has focused on understanding nature through performance art.
